Geomatician, Smart City Operational Project Manager Assistant - Fixed-term contract - Monaco

To implement the Extended Monaco Programme, we are looking for a Geomatics Specialist to provide functional administration of the GIS (Geographic Information System) and assistance with operational Smart City / IoT (Internet of Things) projects.

The Assistant Project Manager Geomatician will be involved in the functional administration of the GIS and the successful completion of Smart City / IoT projects, from scoping through to production.

Missions

  • Maintain and produce data of interest dedicated to SmartCity projects or to all GIS users;
  • Monitor and support the business units in defining and implementing their requirements;
  • Documenting and standardising all GIS functional administration procedures;
  • Carrying out training on GIS tools for members of the Government;
  • Supporting SmartCity project managers in implementing complex projects that include mapping;
  • Framing and structuring projects and drafting the associated expressions of need;
  • Ensuring coordination and communication between the various stakeholders;
  • Assisting in the operational management of projects, ensuring compliance with quality, costs and deadlines;
  • Ensuring the functional verification and validation of solutions developed as part of projects;
  • Deploying the solutions and helping the business units to get to grips with them.

The activities are described in general terms

Profile

  • Hold a national diploma attesting to five years' higher education or a diploma recognised as equivalent by a competent authority in the country where it was obtained, in the fields of geomatics or engineering.
  • Experience required: At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.

Know how

  • Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems (ESRI or similar);
  • Basic knowledge of cartography and semiology;
  • Appetence for projects with a strong technological component and ability to grasp the issues involved;
  • Ability to frame and structure a project based on the needs expressed and the technologies available;
  • Ability to acquire new knowledge and skills as a function of technologies and challenges;
  • Ability to communicate with and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong knowledge of the geography of Monaco;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Organised and rigorous;
  • Professional command of French and English;
  • Good writing and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to summarise and report;
