Linux / DevOps Technical Lead (M/F) – Permanent Contract – Monaco

As part of the expansion of a TechOps team at one of our clients based in Monaco, we are looking for an experienced Linux / DevOps Technical Lead. You will be working in a complex IT environment, across on-premises and cloud infrastructures, playing a central role in the development, evolution and maintenance of platforms to ensure they remain operational and secure.

In addition to Linux expertise, we are looking for someone capable of taking a broad view of technical issues, coordinating with various stakeholders and supporting projects from scoping right through to production.

Missions

As a technical lead and point of contact, your main responsibilities will include:

  • the technical coordination of Build/Run activities and projects
  • participating in the early stages of projects: technical scoping, RFIs and RFPs
  • supporting project managers and business teams with technical scoping
  • collecting and analysing requirements for platform upgrades
  • assessing the suitability of solutions in light of business requirements, technical constraints and budgetary considerations
  • providing technical support to internal teams
  • coordinating with service providers, software vendors and various technical experts
  • helping to draft technical specifications and approval documents
  • continuous improvement of service quality
  • the redesign and modernisation of ageing Linux platforms
  • managing the lifecycle of servers and platforms: Linux OS, technical stacks and configurations
  • implementing automation platforms
  • optimising infrastructure: pooling resources, evolving architectures, breaking down systems into microservices
  • O&M, SCM and monitoring of servers and platforms
  • management and tracking of technical backlogs
  • technical and technological monitoring
  • facilitating meetings and working groups

You will work across departments with project managers, application specialists, architects and teams specialising in infrastructure, systems, networks, security, virtualisation, backup and monitoring.

Profile

  • A minimum of a four-year degree in computer science or equivalent qualification
  • At least 15 years’ experience in a similar role or in systems administration
  • Proven experience of working with various infrastructure teams
  • Experience in complex IT environments

Experience working within a major client organisation or a large organisation is particularly valued.

Proven experience within an IT department is an advantage.

ITIL certification is also an advantage.

Know how

You have solid expertise in system and infrastructure environments, including:

  • Linux: Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS
  • LAMP environment
  • N-tier architectures
  • containerised architectures
  • microservices architectures
  • Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
  • centralised authentication: Okta, Keycloak, ADFS
  • networks, firewalls and DNS
  • supervision and monitoring tools: SNAV, Prometheus, Grafana
  • virtualisation
  • Backup and monitoring
  • Infrastructure automation
  • Platform O&M and MCS
  • backlog management

You are also proficient in producing technical documentation:

  • technical scoping
  • technical specifications
  • DAT
  • DCT
  • RIDA reports
  • documentation relating to platform requirements

A good command of office and collaborative software is also required.
