Job description

As part of the Division's quality unit, the Test and Validation Analyst ensures the quality and performance of the information system in a diversified technological environment.

In a rich context combining RUN projects (application maintenance and support), evolution projects (functional and technical optimisation) and BUILD projects (development of new solutions), he/she works on a variety of environments including both standard or customised off-the-shelf solutions (market software packages) and specific in-house developments.

The Test and Validation Analyst works in a dynamic ecosystem where technical rigour, adaptability and a collaborative spirit are essential to guarantee the reliability of information systems.

Main tasks

• Analysing and evaluating business and technical requirements in order to draw up test plans ;
• Working closely with application managers and project leaders to participate in patches and functional upgrades;
• Prepare the environments and test sets required to run the test campaigns;
• Drawing up test plans and validating API interfaces ;
• Creating and maintaining functional, performance, stress and application load test scripts ;
• Create and maintain smoke test campaigns ;
• Executing test cases, either manually or using test automation tools;
• Identifying anomalies, providing detailed feedback and ensuring that they are incorporated into the backlog;
• Produce test reports and technical documents;
• Provide the elements required for the GO/NO GO decision before production releases;
• Participating in the continuous improvement of testing processes and strategies.

Possible activities (non-exhaustive list) :

• Supporting the application managers during UATs with business department contacts;
• Supporting the DevOps lead in the continuous improvement of the integration and delivery pipeline;
• Participating in the definition and management of the test automation strategy and the industrialisation of testing activities;
• Participating in regular meetings (COPRO, COPIL, team meetings, etc.).

Functional relations with other positions/Directorate(s)/Department(s)

• Reports to the Division Manager
• Working across the board with all ISD teams (ISD project managers, infrastructure, network, application managers, etc.)
• Working with the Project Managers of the DSN teams

Required qualifications / Training

• 3/5 years' higher education from an IT/digital or software development course
• ISTQB certification (minimum Foundation level)

Experience with a major account or large public body is desirable

Length of experience required

Minimum 5 years' experience in software testing

Language

Professional English required, advanced level preferred

Technical skills

• Advanced knowledge of test management and bug tracking tools (such as SQUASH, Selenium, appium, Neoload, jUnit, jMeter, soapUI, Jira or Redmine, etc.);
• Advanced knowledge of UI testing practices;
• Advanced knowledge of backoffice, API and webservices testing practices;
• Understanding of data formats such as JSON or XML;
• Writing test cases and use cases;
• Writing requirements and acceptance criteria;
• Advanced knowledge of information systems technologies, software architectures and security;
• Advanced knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Javascript, Python or Java;
• Advanced knowledge of SQL;
• Proficiency in office and collaborative IT tools;
• Fluency in French.

Possibility of teleworking: 2 days a week, with the possibility of 3 days if projects and the department allow.
