Culture.mc was launched by the Direction des Services Numériques (DSN) on behalf of Monaco's Direction des Affaires Culturelles (DAC), with the ambition of becoming an online mirror of the Principality's varied cultural offering. The platform, developed by Inforca's digital team for the Government of Monaco, features a number of areas dedicated to Monaco's heritage. Take a look! The key: easy access for everyone.

Creation of a website dedicated to Culture in Monaco

Corporate

Discover the culture.mc website, a platform dedicated to promoting cultural events in Monaco. The site brings together all the latest cultural news for the general public, young people and heritage enthusiasts.

A portal dedicated to the Principality's cultural heritage

Culture.mc is a large-scale project in which every detail has been carefully thought through, from its design to its use. The result is a platform that is aesthetically pleasing, accessible and technically powerful.

The site brings together all the players who shape Monaco's cultural scene. Thanks to a well-structured calendar, it centralises all upcoming events and offers a clear overview, making it easy to follow the programming without missing a thing. Whether it's a one-off or a recurring event, such as theatre plays or emblematic festivals (such as Printemps des Arts), the platform offers a varied cultural offering that is constantly updated by the players themselves.

Renowned institutions and varied themes

Supported by renowned institutions such as the Prince Pierre Foundation, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and the Théâtre Princesse Grace,
To make culture accessible to all,

Specific filters have been set up to enable the visually impaired, hearing impaired and people with reduced mobility (PRM) to find events that meet their needs.

The Culture.mc platform is aimed at a wide audience (Monegasques and residents, residents of the southern region, French and foreign tourists) thanks to its fully translated English version.
Micro-animations have been added to make the portal more dynamic, attractive and visually pleasing.

During the design phase, the Digital Services Department carried out tests with cultural players and visitors, enabling us to optimise the ergonomics and tree structure of the content.

Culture.mc is based on the Design System found on other government sites. However, this site stands out for its more creative aesthetic, adapted to Monaco's cultural universe. Specific blocks and graphic elements have been created to create a unique visual identity, and the use of colour reinforces this new "theme" in the Government's Design System.

The Culture.mc site joins more than 40 other sites already developed by Inforca for the Principality, while standing out graphically from the more institutional sites.

A search engine optimisation strategy and a high-performance portal

At the same time, in-depth work was carried out to optimise the site's natural referencing. From the outset, the sections and links have been designed to make the information accessible to search engines.

A maximum number of standards have been applied, and information directly intended for indexing robots has been added so that search engines can quickly position the site in the very first search results.

On the technical side, major efforts have been made to ensure fast, fluid browsing, despite the large number of events on Culture.mc. Filter performance has been optimised, as has the loading of images and content, to ensure a smooth browsing experience.

With a view to eco-design approach the project team also made some compromises on the number and weight of images used to optimise the site's performance.

What's planned for the future?

Our shared ambition is to make culture.mc the starting point for all internet users interested in culture in the Principality, in order to increase the number of visitors to all types of cultural events and venues. To achieve this, the DAC and DSN have already come up with some ambitious features that we hope to be able to help bring to fruition.
