Hello Sacha and Sébastien! To begin with, could you tell us a little about the genesis of this project? How did the idea of creating a website dedicated to the Monaco-Nice stage of the Tour de France 2024 come about?

Sacha: "With the Tour de France passing through Monaco, the Monegasque Government wanted to set up a website to inform the public and organise the necessary arrangements to welcome the cyclists. Indeed, the blocked streets could disrupt traffic throughout the city.

Sébastien: "And yes, with the Tour de France passing through Monaco once again, the Government needed a site to communicate the information essential to the organisation of this event."

This new site presents the history of the Tour de France in Monaco and informs Monegasques about the measures that have been put in place, as well as the organisation of the Principality around the sporting event (how to come and watch the event, entertainment, traffic disruptions...)".

Indeed, the site seems very complete. Can you tell us about the main features you've developed?

Sacha: "Your question is interesting because nothing was developed for this site. To tell you the truth, there were only a few configurations to be made before the site was available. Over the years, we've set up a system with Ibexa (a content management tool or CMS) that allows us to create functionalities quickly and easily. By retrieving the user's identifier and configuring a tree structure dedicated to the desired future site, everything can be made to measure. All we needed from the Government of Monaco was a few simple elements to get the ball rolling: a name, a logo and some colours. Everything you see on the site comes from manageable blocks that can be reused at will by contributors."

Sébastien: "The Government decided to create this site quickly to communicate essential information to users as quickly as possible.

Sébastien: "Over the years, we've deployed many features and design elements that enable the Government to generate a site very quickly."

As Sacha said, no specific development was required for this site; the contributors reused many of the features developed previously: a mobile-friendly display, blocks on the home page offering different views to reach the site's pages, and integrations in the page content to view ESRI maps.
Inforca managed the configuration of the site (domain name, theme and logo), then the DSN teams took control of the CMS and published their content. In just a few days, the site was ready!

No major difficulties encountered in developing the site, if I understand correctly?

Sacha: "No, thanks to the system we described earlier.

Sacha: "In fact, the main difficulty wasn't technical but lay in the work of the contributors, who were responsible for writing all the content for the site.

Sébastien: "That's true. But I'd like to pick up on what Sacha said: we had to produce the site in a very short space of time in order to give the contributors rapid access to the content so that it could be put online, and therefore open the site as quickly as possible."

I see. And what initial feedback have you perhaps already received from users?

Sacha: "Given that the site is new, it was noted that it was difficult to find via search engines. So we launched an Adwords campaign to improve its SEO, as well as optimising its content and metadata."

Sébastien: "Yes, but we've also noticed that users are delighted to find all the relevant information on the same site, particularly information about traffic disruptions."

Finally, what impact do you hope the site will have on the organisation and communication around this final stage of the Tour de France 2024?

Sacha and Sébastien are unanimous: "We hope that the site will make a major contribution to prevention and to the smooth running of the Tour!
