Cyber security is undergoing a major transformation, with attacks multiplying, becoming more sophisticated and automated, while defence tools are evolving towards a predictive model. At the heart of this transformation is artificial intelligence (AI), which is now emerging as a real lever for anticipating threats. But behind this promise lies the question: does AI make cybersecurity more intelligent or more vulnerable?

From reaction to prediction: a new era in cyber security

The traditional cybersecurity model is based on detection after the fact, but given the speed of automated attacks, this model is no longer sufficient. Predictive approaches now make it possible to detect weak signals, anticipate attack scenarios and act upstream.

Using machine learning algorithms, AI systems continuously analyse event logs, network traffic and user behaviour. They detect in a matter of seconds what it would take a human being hours to identify.

According to Fevad, 69% of businesses believe that AI will become an essential part of their cyber security strategy over the next few years.

At Inforca, we are already helping a number of customers with this change:

  • Implementation of real-time monitoring capable of spotting behavioural anomalies,
  • Deployment of SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response) and intelligent SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions to automate incident response,
  • Integration of generative AI tools in threat intelligence and vulnerability management.

When AI strengthens your defences

Artificial intelligence is becoming a real team player for the CISO(Information Systems Security Manager ). It helps to detect threats earlier, respond more quickly and adapt continuously.

1. Predictive detection

AI models spot unusual behaviour before it gets out of hand. An increase in outbound connections, a sudden IP change or suspicious night-time activity trigger an immediate alert.

2. Automated response

Artificial intelligence-enabled security platforms (SOARs) can isolate a compromised workstation, reinitialise access or apply patches without the slightest human intervention, while teams are informed of anomalies in real time.

3. Behavioural analysis

AI learns about user habits. When an employee accesses a service or an unusual location, the system takes action before a vulnerability is exploited.

4. Adaptive safety

Filtering rules and firewalls are automatically reconfigured according to the nature of the threats observed. Protection becomes scalable, reactive and continuous.

Result: teams are freed from repetitive tasks, reaction time is reduced and visibility is enhanced across the entire information system.

The other face of AI: a threat that learns as fast as we do

The same technology that protects can also be used to attack. Cybercriminals are now using AI tools to make their attacks more credible and targeted.

  • Intelligent" phishing campaigns that can mimic the tone of a superior.
  • Audio or video deepfakes used to mislead employees.
  • Polymorphic malware that rewrites its own code to evade antivirus software.
  • Data poisoning attacks that distort defence algorithms.

According to KnowBe4 (2024), the number of phishing attacks has risen from 210,000 to 550,000 in two years, an increase directly linked to the massive use of artificial intelligence.

These new threats demand a response that is equal to the task: faster, more refined and capable of adapting in real time.

Inforca: supporting companies in their drive towards enhanced cyber security

Implementing predictive cyber security is more than just installing a solution. It's a global project, combining human expertise, technology and governance.

Our teams support organisations at every stage:

  • Maturity and vulnerability audits,
  • Integration of AI solutions adapted to the existing environment,
  • Training employees and raising their awareness of new digital uses,
  • Continuous supervision and improvement of detection models.

This tailor-made approach is based on a simple principle: AI does not replace humans, it supports them.

Analysts retain the ability to discern, interpret and decide. AI provides the necessary speed, memory and responsiveness.

Anticipate rather than suffer

Predictive cybersecurity opens the way to a more secure digital world, but its effectiveness depends above all on a company's overall strategy and the quality of its support.

At Inforca, we believe that trust is built over time, between teams, systems and partners.
